Cecily & Jake: Engagement

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of doing Cecily and Jake's Engagement photos. They had just spent 2 years apart, while Jake was serving a mission in Japan for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They wrote each other for those two years and here they are...getting married. Brian and I wrote for 37 months while we both served missions and were engaged 4 days after I got home. Jake and Cecily are so cute together. Don't you just love Cecily's earrings? They tied in beautifully with their peacock themed wedding announcement. Jake had braces put back on right after he got home. I removed them in some of the photos, but not all. Sorry Jake. :-)

In honor of today, May 14, being their Wedding Day, I thought it would be fun to post these.

Engagement: Austin & Niki

Austin and Niki are getting married next month. Photography by Jo is capturing their wedding. Jo is my good friend, who moved all the way up to Idaho last year. I love when I get a chance to work with her. I got to do Austin and Niki's Engagement session for Jo this past weekend. They picked the Tempe Center for the Arts as their location as they spend time together down there going for bike rides and walks along the water. They were a lot of fun to work with, relaxed with each other and pretty at ease in front of the camera. It's always fun to meet people and see if you share any common interests.  We did! We all have an interest in the dental field. Our paths may cross again. 

I'm so glad they brought their bikes.

Firas & Enas: Engagement Session

So, one of the fun things about photography is how it connects people who may not otherwise have had that opportunity. Firas and Enas are two people who I met in a serendipitous way through a mutual new friend. They are from Palestine and are a lovely and cute couple who are sealing their love in just a few weeks. I am excited to be a part of their traditional Henna Party the night before the wedding and looking forward to all the festivities that go along with them celebrating their union. Here are some photos from our recent engagement session.

There was a slight learning curve on my part with Firas and Enas's names. For a while I kept calling Firas "Firnas". I realized my mistake eventually, but apparently it became a joke between them. I told them I was merely trying to combine their names like they do with the rich and famous: Bennifer, Branjelina, Firnas...see? Looking forward to seeing them again in a few weeks.

Dax+Brittany=Engaged

Dax and Brittany are getting married at the end of May. We met at the Civic Center for a little photo shoot. I haven't been down there, so it was fun to branch out a bit. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know Dax and Brittany, although at the same time, I already felt like I did. Maybe it's their european roots. They're a great couple and I'm so looking forward to their wedding! Here are some of my favorites:
