Megan & Wyatt's Wedding Day

Megan & Wyatt got married a few weeks ago and had a beautiful reception at the Wright House. I thought I would just focus on a few details from their day. It was a really  nice day. I learned that Wyatt has 8 sisters and to see him surrounded by all of his sisters was a sight to behold. They were a fun group of girls who knew how to make a party lively. There is something really endearing about thinking that Wyatt spent his life surrounded by all of these women.  I think he is a shoe in for being a great husband.  He has to at least understand girls! Megan and Wyatt, I loved being with you. Sorry it's taken me this long to post.  Happy 3 week anniversary!

Olivia Spends the Night

Olivia is my niece and she will be two in February. Since Emma (8) is our baby, we all really love having a little person around. Emma mothers her and really takes care of her. I hardly have to do anything, Emma is so good with her. She got to spend the night about a week ago and a photo shoot is always part of our activities. I also got permission to cut her hair, so we did that, too. I give her a lollipop, sit her on a stool and put in a movie and try to cut as quickly as possible before the lollipop gets all covered in hair. She's a good sport about letting me take it away. We were going for the Suri bob. :-) It's a bob, anyhow. So here is our little girlfriend, Olivia, who, by the way is going to be a big sister in the spring AND we found out last week that she is getting a little brother. Wow! One of my brothers is finally having a boy.
We're so excited!
The Flink name lives on.

I just love her little legs, feet and hands...pretty much everything! She's sturdy. Now if I could get my other niece, Ella and Olivia together with their legs...I would be in heaven. I love them!!

Emma's maternal instinct really kicked in on the trampoline. Emma was so worried that Olivia was going to bounce off. Olivia, on the other hand had no such worries. She was fearless.

Meet Kiersten

I happened to be at the Mesa Arts Center on Saturday taking some photos and I had the good fortune of meeting Kiersten Kern. She had a booth set up at the local craft fair.  She makes beaded jewelry for people and animals.  I loved what she makes for people. I have not checked out her animal jewelry yet. (Lucky animals, who get to wear jewelery!) Kiersten's jewelry can be found here and on etsy.  One of her pieces was a necklace with pink pearls and small pink crystals.  It had a heart pendant hanging from it. Kiersten pointed out that on the other side of the heart was a saying:

"Some people pursue happiness, others create it."

When I read it, I thought, "Well, that is Kiersten." Kiersten wears a scarf on her head because she has lost all of  her hair from chemotherapy. Kiersten has Breast Cancer. I asked her if she would mind if I did her portrait.  Thank you, Kiersten for allowing me to take your picture and letting me share them today on my blog. You look beautiful, hair or no hair. Kiersten is going in for a double mastectomy today. I would invite you to include her in your prayers. Best wishes to you, Kiersten. Hope it all goes well. So nice to meet you.
Here she is.  Can't you just feel her positive energy??

Ryan and Brooke

(O.k., go get a glass of water and give this just a minute to upload...) Aside from my own family, I go back the farthest with photographing this family. They've been with me since the beginning. I love doing them every year. I should hire Brooke to be my stylist. She nails it every time! Brooke and Ryan, thanks for coming back year after year. Here you go, Brooke.

This is Mr. Frog. (I am not attached to the name, if you have a better suggestion...maybe Henry.) He comes with me on shoots and he serves as a nice distraction, when necessary and he also rewards with
a yummy little treat at the end of our session.
