Adam turned 12 yesterday. I feel like he's been 11 forever. In some ways, I don't want to see him grow up. He's our youngest boy. He's so sweet, so funny and he does and says silly things that make us all laugh. He is constantly making weapons out of anything and then provides his own soundtrack music when he does his "slow-mo" fake fighting. I love that he cares about school and doing his best at things in general. He decided to do the Pet merit badge for scouting and instead of using our dog, Annie, as his pet he caught a scorpion in August and has been caring for it ever since, feeding it crickets on a regular basis. It is still alive and well and has even shed a layer during his stay with us.
You may not be aware of this, but Joe's BBQ offers a free meal to anyone on their birthday, so Brian and I took Adam there on Saturday evening. It was fun to have a little date with just Adam. Today we had a family birthday dinner with Grandma and Grandpa, Mormor and Morfar, James and Christine and Olivia, and our friends Brig and Alexa. We were 16 people and the house was full and noisy, which I loved.
Here are just a few photos of Adam. We love you Adam! Ben took the first couple. He's always stealing my camera.
The biggest thing that happened today was that Adam was ordained to the office of a Deacon after church in the Bishop's office with family and friends present. It was a very special and tender event. We're so proud of Adam and excited to see him pass the Sacrament next week as the newest Deacon in our ward.
This was Adam's cake and "candle". We sang "Happy Birthday" in both english and swedish.
CONGRATULATIONS ADAM!!!!!! TWELVE IS A VERY BIG DEAL!!!!!!!
